The email list definately sees a bit more 'updated' traffic. But all the critical stuff is here and what not.

The Mad Frenchman i'm sure has plans for getting some updated 'regular' rides posted here.

Racing: BCC-Style

We encourage all interested riders to come race with us -- definitely no try-outs! All you need is a bike and the desire!! Since our sport is not NCAA, we don't have complicated rules, regulations, and practices. You can get involved as much or as little as you like. The atmosphere is fun and encouraging, and in addition to all of the fun you'll have with the bcc riders, you'll make friends from colleges across the northeast.

But what is bike racing all about? Well, in road racing there are road races, criteriums, time trials, and other competitions -- check out a cycling 101 on usa cycling's website! Different athletes excel in different areas -- perhaps you are a sprinter, winning the race in a blaze at the finish... or maybe you are the hill climber, leaving everyone else behind you as you climb up the final hill... maybe you are a time-trialer, steaming past the competition. Bicycling racing rewards strength, endurance, power, determination, courage, and wits.

With money allocated from the student activities office and donations from alumni, we are able to cover the racing expenses: registration fees, transportation, and accommodations. In addition, if you compete in two races, the club will reimburse you for a pair of shorts and jersey for the season plus the cost of your collegiate cycling license! You have free access to advice from your fellow bcc racers, which includes both collegiate and professional racers! In addition, we occasionally have organized training events.

Club Clothing

Once or twice a year, we put in a order to Voler for club clothing in any style of garmet you'd like: arm warmers, thermal jackets, wind jackets, skin suits, bib shorts, knickers, etc. A jpg of the order form can be downloaded by clicking here. If you would like to be emailed when the next full order is being tallied, please send an email to cycling@brown.edu.

In the meantime, we stock some short sleeve jersey (men's cut) and peloton shorts (men's cut) to sell to anyone who is interested. You do not need to have any official affliation with the university to order the clothing. If you would like to wear bcc-hottie gear, we would love to sell it to you! Hey, if you just want to hang a bcc jersey on your wall, that is fine by us as well!!

Riding with the Club

Riding Rules (as few as possible!!!)

1. wear a helmet
2. obey all traffic laws
--> stop at red lights, ride in same direction as traffic, etc
3. ensure a safe, fun, and supportive riding environment for everyone on the ride!!
